Health Attractor is an international non-profit initiative to bridge the fields of complex systems science and biomedical research.
Its objectives are:

To promote international cross-pollination between complexity scientists and health professionals.

To foster the development of this emerging transdisciplinary field by becoming a hub for information and education on the subject.

To create a vehicle for the incubation, funding, and launch of translational solutions for the clinical area based on this new paradigm.

As a newbie in academia, I´m passionate about questioning the “common knowledge” and opening up broad discussions integrating different fields of science. Scientific Advisor
Dr. Metzner studied physics at the University of Erlangen, Germany, where he received his diploma in 1989. In the early part of his scientific career, he worked on the theory of semiconductor nanostructures, focusing particularly on how disorder affects the optical and transport properties of these man-made quantum systems. Both his PhD in 1994 and his Habilitation in 2001 centered around nanostructure theory. He also completed long postdoctoral stays at the University of Tokyo, Japan, and the University of Santa Barbara, California. After returning from the United States in 2001, Dr. Metzner gradually began to teach and conduct theoretical research in the field of Complex Systems. In 2005, he joined the Biophysics Group at the University of Erlangen, where he worked on theoretical cell biophysics, mechanics of biopolymer networks, statistical physics of living systems, collective group dynamics, and new methods of complex system analysis. In recent years, Dr. Metzner has been focusing on brain-inspired neurophysics, machine learning, and general artificial intelligence.
